I have been a fan of this blog for ages and am flattered to find you've mentioned the Latin Baby Book Club in this post. Christianne is a valuable resource of information for all of us.
Keep up the great work!

I went to USA Weekend to check out the illustration part of Reading Adventure, and came away liking the digital bookmark. I think kids who like to measure things would enjoy toting up their reading time, and families who reward reading time might like it too.

Of course, gimmick-lovers like me might want one too!

Terry, I love that two people on opposite coasts can think the same thing. And I love the Country Musicians Rock and Read event. It's great seeing people from so many different areas talking about literacy every week.

Thanks for the mention of the new post and the wonderful resources you are sharing. I've already made a few new friends in the world of reading (and that's what the Literacy Ambassador is all about). The community of people promoting reading with families and children has an even more important voice these days as our wonderful teachers are focusing in teaching the skills of reading. I have a library science professor friend who calls our focus "the behavior and habit" of reading. I like that and we certainly do need both the skill base and the motivational part. Keep up the good work!

I am still trying to find the Journal article about the correlation between overconfident students and low reading comprehension. In the meantime, there are more details here.
