This just looks adorable, and the back cover is a great little map.

Guide to Mythical CreaturesAn Illustrated Guide to Mythical Creatures by Anita Ganeri; illustrated by David West (Hammond  World Atlas, 2009) This is a text-heavy picture book for older audiences. The illustrations are fascinating and have a “read more” quality about them.

The name of the series is what grabbed me immediately: A Catching the Reading Bug Book! Magic Words and its companion book Magic Letters: The Keys to the World of Words like a creative way to help kids understand word families and build stories at the same time.
