Friday Blurb: It is a Good Friday
Growing up, today was always a day of solemn remembrance. A day, pre-Internet, to unplug and reflect. Although I don’t follow the religion of my youth in an “organized” fashion, I believe in God and practice my faith in other ways.
Today is a special day because my family will be celebrating spring and Easter together. My brother, sister-in-law, and nephew are in town, and we’re all convening at Mom and Dad’s tonight. We haven’t celebrated Easter together in years, as spring break and work schedules don’t always make that possible. So I will treasure this evening.
Before I go … and it will be pretty quiet around here for Spring Break next week … I did want to invite you to visit Booklights. Ann Neeley has a wonderful post about all things spring, including poetry, a few new books for Earth Day, and some writing prompt ideas. She also reminds us that Booklights is celebrating its first anniversary this month – Very cool!
And in the spirit of yesterday’s silliness and all the other fun ahead in April (it’s national humor month!), my Prompt Idea for April is to have fun with Mad-Libs. Have a favorite Mad-Lib memory? I’d love to hear about it.
Hope it’s a glorious spring weekend wherever you are, and whatever you’re doing …
